Sippo introduces you to people and small gatherings on WhatsApp. This notice explains what we collect, why, who sees it and how to remove it. Sippo is operated by BUG CONTROL LLP.
What Sippo collects
- Your WhatsApp number and the name on your WhatsApp profile.
- What you tell Sippo in chat: your interests, your area, when you are free, your gender, that you are 18 or over, and your answers to a host's questions.
- Voice notes you send, and the text we turn them into.
- Recordings and transcripts of calls you book with Sippo.
- Your Instagram handle and public Instagram profile, if you share your handle.
- If you host: your Instagram handle, your answers to the joining questions, notes from your joining call, and the UPI ID you give for payment messages.
- Basic records of visits to sippo.ai, kept by our hosting provider. The site has no tracking or advertising scripts.
Why
- To introduce you to gatherings and people that fit what you asked for.
- To send your application to the host you chose and tell you their answer.
- To send reminders and updates about gatherings you joined.
- To keep gatherings safe and act on reports.
- To make the next introduction fit better.
We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
What hosts see
When you apply to a gathering, its host sees your name, a short summary of your profile, your gender and your answers to their questions. They see your WhatsApp number only after they accept you. A host sees only people who applied to their own gatherings. After a gathering, the people you pick are shared only if they also pick you.
Who processes it
We use these services to run Sippo: Meta (WhatsApp), Anthropic (the AI that writes Sippo's replies), Bolna (calls), Sarvam (turning voice notes into text), Google Maps (places and travel times), Cloudflare (hosting, storage and email) and LangSmith (records of Sippo's conversations so we can check quality; phone numbers are hidden). Some of these services process data outside India. Each one may use your data only to provide its service to us.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you use Sippo. Call recordings are deleted after 90 days. If you send DELETE, everything is removed within 7 days, except a record of your consent and a record that the deletion happened. Copies in our backups are deleted within 30 days. Records of conversations kept in LangSmith for quality checks are deleted within 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send STOP on WhatsApp to pause messages and calls; send DELETE to remove your data. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending DELETE. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Naming someone to act for you
You can name a person who can use these rights for you if you die or are unable to act yourself. Email hello@sippo.ai with their name and how to contact them.
How we keep it safe
Your data is encrypted when it is stored and when it moves between our services. Only the people who run Sippo can see it, and only when they need to, for example to act on a report.
If something goes wrong
If your data is ever exposed in a breach, we tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as soon as we can, with what happened and what we are doing about it.
Children
You must be 18 or over to use Sippo. Some gatherings, marked Families, welcome children; a child can come only with their parent or guardian, as their plus-one. Sippo never asks for a child's name or any other detail about them. If we learn that someone under 18 is using Sippo, we delete their data.
Grievance officer
Ashwini Vemula, hello@sippo.ai. We reply within 7 days and resolve complaints within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this notice, we update the date at the top and tell you on WhatsApp before the change applies to you.
